My Prayer for this Wedding.

Father,

If I am to boast, let me boast about you. You have made it known to me your purposes, and I submit myself to your will. I pray that this wedding will glorify your Son Christ Jesus, and that through this ceremony those that see and hear will be able to taste the goodness, the whole and perfect love that can only come from you.

Give those with a weary heart a new hope. Give those who have stumbled a new footing. Give those who are lost a light to find their way to you. Give those who are poor in spirit a comfort surpassing all understanding.

I pray that the attention brought on my Bride and I would be reflected toward you. Let those who come not see us alone, but Christ in us. Let them not envy our love but rejoice, knowing that your love is available to them here and now.

Father we pray that a sinner is brought home. We pray that a broken marriage is restored. We pray that above all these things that your perfect will is carried out in the lives of everyone in attendance.

Father we pray that in all the gifts we receive, that none would take our attention away from the only gift that matters, your Son. Help us to feed the poor, and bring a special Christmas to those in need. You have provided for us in a way that only you can. Our cup overflows.

Father we ask for the honor to serve in your Church, and as a married couple, we pray that your will should be carried out in our lives and in our service. Point us in the direction you would have us go. Intersect our path with those who need your love. Help us to remain joyful, even amidst trials, and to rejoice always in your name.

Amen
