<div>This is not a true blog, so much as my own record/journal of my training sessions which I have made available for others to look at if they wish! The record has the most recent runs at the top, extending to the oldest at the bottom.</div>
<div>The <a href="http://www.london-marathon.co.uk/site" shape="rect">Flora London Marathon</a> (<a href="http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2687751" shape="rect">route</a>) takes place on the 26th April, 2009 and covers 26.2 miles. My aim is to get round but if I were able to complete the run in around or even just under 4 hours then I would be chuffed! I have lots of support and even some intrepid folks are volunteering to come to London in April to cheer me on - or may be to just pick up the pieces..!</div>
<div> </div>
<div>I am running to support two charities: the <a href="http://www.cuf.org.uk/default.aspx" shape="rect">Church Urban Fund</a> and <a href="http://www.tearfund.org/" shape="rect">Tearfund</a>, both of these organisations undertake work at home and abroad to improve the lives of underprivileged members of our society.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>You can help by supporting me <a href="https://www.charitiestrust.org/members_data/event/simondoeslondon/index.html?event_id=713" shape="rect">here</a> -  if you wish!  The Charities Trust website uses <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SecureCode" shape="rect">3-D Secure</a> transactions for which your card needs to be registered. If your card is not registered or you would prefer not to support via a card then please send a cheque payable to Charities Trust, to me either at home or clinic: 11-13 Whitchurch Rd, Wellington, TELFORD, TF1 3DS. <i>THANK YOU..!!</i></div>
<div><br clear="none"/></div><div><br clear="none"/></div><div><b>TOTAL RAISED - I have done the sums and reckon that together with the GiftAid contribution, just over £1500 will have been raised - THANK YOU..</b></div><div><br clear="none"/></div><div><b>FINISHER....!!</b></div><div>So I did it! <b>3 hours and 55 minutes</b> - YES!! </div><div>          </div><div>An average of just under 9 min miles. I completed the 1st half in 1 hr  55 mins so the splits were pretty good. We all suffered in the heat and many folks faded in the second half. Here is the <a href="http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/8018972.stm" shape="rect">BBC's</a> take on the day. The atmosphere was amazing with nearly all of the 26.2 miles course being lined with well wishers - many of whom shouted out my name, a real boost and very much worthwhile having it printed on the shirt. I very much appreciated the support of family and friends who travelled to be there: Kenny and Julie who took this footage at mile 8, and Toby and Dad who popped u...</div></div>
