WorldType® Font Suites for Mobile Devices
WorldType font suites provide a fast and practical solution for offering wide language support on mobile devices. These font suites contain a series of non-Latin font components with aesthetics that are complementary to each other. Font suites are also designed to be aesthetically compatible with a regular and condensed Latin WGL counterpart. The ascenders and descenders of each font component have been adjusted to ensure text alignment between scripts. All components have been height restricted to prevent characters from being clipped when rendered on small displays. Font components offer support for different scripts. They can be linked to each other, to a Latin WGL font or to our East Asian selection to obtain the desired level of language coverage. This allows developers to license and embed only the components they require and use as little memory as possible.
