There's a big crackdown on public smoking in Japan.  The amount of visible smoking is way down since I was last there three years ago.  These signs are all over the sidewalks in Tokyo.  I love how the guy with the giant spliff is actually sauntering in front of the "banned" sign, seemingly in defiance.

When I first saw this ad on a Tokyo subway, I scanned it as, "Lingerie is Love-Jew", which is sort of strange.  Then I saw that is actually reads, "Lingerie is Love-Jewelry", which is somewhat less strange.  Then I saw that this is Hello Kitty branded lingerie, which is sort of strange again.

Dave insists that this is actually clever English/Japanese word-play because, pronounced in Romaji, it would sound something like, "Ron-jeh-ri is Roh-jeh-ru", which, you gotta admit, is a pretty catchy slogan.
