EverNote Corp. Releases New Version of Software For Capturing And Recalling Digital Information
Popular Personal Content Management Software Adds Data Portability, Makes Organizing and Searching Digital Information and Notes Easy
Sunnyvale, Calif., October 4, 2006 – EverNote Corporation today announced the immediate availability of EverNote 1.5 software, the newest version of its popular note taking and information capturing application.
EverNote software provides a single place for capturing, categorizing and instantly locating all types of information, such as typed and handwritten notes, web clips, emails, phone messages, addresses, passwords, brainstorms, sketches, photos and documents, and accessing them on multiple platforms and devices. The new version of EverNote software introduces data portability via synchronization with removable media, access to notes from other applications, new email clipping options, expanded security, data transfer via instant messenger and a number of other new options and improvements.
Since its introduction, EverNote software has emerged as a new standard for capturing and accessing information and is today used for a near limitless set of purposes, such as taking notes in class or in the office, conducting all types of research, capturing handwritten notes during meetings, keeping to-do lists, planning family trips and organizing medical records.
“EverNote is a central part of how I organize my life every day,” commented EverNote customer Rebecca Thomas. “Now, it will be easier to take all my notes with me on the road via a USB smart drive or even synchronize or back-up to my home PC. I also love the fact that I can share notes with colleagues during a Skype or Yahoo IM session, ultimately helping me to be as productive and organized as possible.”
“The release of EverNote 1.5 software is an important step toward our goal to give everyone a perfect ‘photographic’ memory,” said Stepan Pachikov, president and chief product architect of EverNote. “With this release, we are introducing new capturing capabilities and our first flavor of synchronization to make all types of content available at any time, in any place.”
New feature highlights of EverNote 1.5 include:
- Synchronization: EverNote 1.5 software allows users to synchronize notes between a PC and a USB drive or other removable media or between multiple PCs via USB drives.
- New Clipping Capabilities: Clipping from Microsoft Outlook is now as simple as clicking on the “Add to EverNote” button.
- Links to Notes: Notes and categories can be placed into outside applications or onto the desktop, enabling links to notes from any other resource or program.
- Sending Notes via IM: Notes can be dragged into Yahoo! Messenger, MSN Messenger, Skype and other popular IM clients to instantly transfer interesting bits of info via IM.
- Expanded Password Protection: EverNote 1.5 software comes with new security features and allows for password protection of entire notes databases.

- New Export Formats: The new version of EverNote software provides the easy ability to export notes into TXT and HTML files.
EverNote 1.5 software is also an ideal software application for USB drive-based computing. The company recently partnered with Lexar to include EverNote software on Lexar’s new line of JumpDrive USB flash drives pre-installed with the PowerToGo™ mobile software platform.
